Ministries of the Metropolis
The Education, Hellenic Culture and Youth Diakonia ministries of the Metropolis of Atlanta are organized in the seven departments below. Please click on the ministry name for more details about each ministry. As the name implies, this ministry attends to the needs of the parishes. Among the needs addressed are development of strong lay leadership, a sense of stewardship, and outreach and evangelism programs. The ministries under Parish Development are: Parish Council Leadership, Parish Education, Culture, and Youth Diakonia, Philoptochos Enrichment, Stewardship, and Outreach and Evangelization.
Important elements of pastoral care, such as interfaith marriage, pre-marital counseling, bereavement, and ministering to divorced and single groups are addressed by the Family Unity ministr. The ministries under Family Unity are:Interfaith Marriage

Religious education is a process which begins in childhood and continues, as the saints remind us, throughout our lives. The Religious Education department provides resources for learning for everyone, including a training program for catechism teachers. The ministries under Religious Education are: Adult Education, Clergy Continuing Education, Catechism Teacher Training, Acolyte Training, St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival, Catechism Resources, and Youth Directors and Ministers
From organizing high school retreats to supporting young adult ministries and training youth workers: if you are young or interested in working with the youth, this is the place to start. The ministries under Youth Diakonia are: St. Stephen's Camp, Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), YAL - Columbus Day Weekend, YAL - Memorial Day Weekend, Youth Worker Training, GOYA Retreats, and
Winter Youth Rally.
Parochial schools, Hellenic dance, and studies in Greece are supervised and supported by the department of Hellenic Culture and Language. The ministries under Hellenic Culture and Language are: Greek Education and Culture, Hellenic Dance, Parochial and Charter Schools, Studies Abroad - Greece, and
Scholarships
The Liturgical Life ministry covers everything related to the services of our Church. Particular attention is given to the music of the Church. The ministries under Liturgical Life are: Greek Orthodox Choirs and Chanters, Byzantine Music Education
