Greek Orthodox Christian School
The Greek Orthodox Christian School (GOCS) is a ministry of the Church for children that celebrates the rich culture of Orthodox Christianity while preparing children to meet the future with confidence. The Greek Orthodox Christian School seeks to meet the following needs:
-
Values: The GOCS will encourage respect for others and oneself by focusing on a Christ-centered curriculum and teaching biblical virtues.
-
Education: The GOCS is committed to cultivating children's cognitive skills and creativity though projects and play and will hire highly qualified personnel to achieve this objective.
-
Safety: The GOCS will nurture children in a safe and healthy environment by adhering to strict self-imposed standards and maintaining a low teacher-child ratio.
-
Self-esteem: The GOCS will help children develop positive self-esteem by being generous with praise and providing ample opportunities to succeed.
-
Socialization: The GOCS will foster positive relationships among the children by working in small groups and encouraging active participation.
-
Orthodoxy: The GOCS will provide an environment and program that foster children's appreciation for the values, customs, and celebrations of Orthodox Christianity.
-
Community: The GOCS will foster a sense of belonging by involving the child, the family, and the community.
